Glampers! We are very fortunate in Canada to have many beautiful private, provincial, and national campgrounds with ample bookings to satisfy every camper (or glamper) list of wants!
Here is your 2026 updated guide to making the most of campsite booking season across many of the popular Canadian camping destinations. I hope it’s everything you need to know to help you secure your dream site with minimal stress.
🌲 Parks Canada National Parks & Historic Sites
Bookings for campsites with Parks Canada have varying start dates moving from west to east. Campground bookings in British Columbia, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba open in January of 2026, while parks in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes will become available throughout the month of February 2025.
Bookings for Parks Canada come online at 8AM in the time-zone of the park, so do your research and plan accordingly.
⛺ BC Parks
In 2026, campsite bookings at BC Parks will open three months in advance of the date you want to arrive at 7AM PST. BC Parks offer an incredible range of outdoor experiences. From front country camping trips to multi-day backcountry hikes, mountain biking to boating. BC’s incredible natural spaces offer something for everyone.
🔥 Alberta Parks
Book as early as 90-days in advance for individual and backcountry camping with Alberta Parks, 180-days in advance for group sites. Bookings open 9AM MST and users can book up to 10 consecutive nights per reservation. Alberta Parks offers comfort camping - a convenient alternative to traditional camping. Cabins, Huts, Yurts & more!
🌾 Saskatchewan Parks
Offering both seasonal campsites, and nightly reservations, Saskatchewan Parks has lots to choose from. The 2026 booking date was not posted as of the publication time of this blog, but reservations typically become available in April, plan accordingly. For those who travel and camp with horses, Saskatchewan Parks has equestrian camping! This is a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the parks with their horses with campsites specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of equestrian campers. While each park offers unique services, all equestrian campgrounds provide the same basic amenities - well-maintained corrals, spacious tie stalls and unfettered access to water. Equestrian campers can saddle up with their companions and take on the trails, exploring at their own pace. So, pack the saddlebags, load up a trusted steed, and discover the provincial parks.
🦬 Manitoba Parks
Manitoba's provincial parks cater to various camping styles, with options for tenting, RV camping, and cozy yurts. Amenities include electrical hookups, comfort stations, and access to hiking trails, beaches, and fishing spots. Reservation dates for 2026 have not been posted yet, but traditionally open the second week of April. Reservations for Manitoba Parks can be made online, by phone, or even in person at the Winnipeg office.
🛶 Ontario Parks
With Ontario Parks, bookings open five-months in advance of arrival. This means that Ontario Parks are booking now for arrivals in June 2026. Bookings go online at 7AM daily, do your research ahead of time and be ready to select you site as soon as it opens. Max stays vary from 7-days to14-days, so check your park to see how long you can stay for before booking.
⛺️ Quebec Parks
Quebec gets an early start on things – campground bookings in this beautiful and history province opened in November 2025 for the 2026 camping season. This was not a rolling date by park — reservations launched broadly on November 8th and 9th for the entire summer season. Get logged into the Sépaq system and see what’s available. Good to know though, that some individual sites may release later in 2026 as more inventory becomes available due to construction or upgrades.
🌊 Provincial Parks in the Maritimes (New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia & Newfoundland)
Across the Maritime Provinces (New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia & Newfoundland) you will find numerous provincial parks that have overnight frontcountry camping, and many with backcountry camping, even some with seasonal campsites! Generally, reservations at these provincial parks open in late winter (February 10, 2026 for New Brunswick) and later (April in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland; May in PEI). Your best bet is to check the provincial park page for the province you want to visit to confirm their reservation opening date as they do vary. One thing they do all have in common though is incredible views, access to the best mountain biking trails, hike to waterfalls tucked away in lush forests and gorgeous starry skies. Many are located near beaches and popular attractions.
Campsites are in high demand across the country. To help you crush your bookings, here are my top tips for campsite booking success:
🌟 1. Plan Ahead: Before the big day, make sure you’ve planned not just which campground you’d like to stay at and when, but also confirm:
· How far in ahead you can book (for example, 90-days in Albert, 3-months in BC, or 5-months in Ontario)
· What time the booking site will open, including what time zone that is based on! Canda has six time zones, so make sure you’re getting on at the right time for both the booking site (for example, 7AM in Ontario, 8AM in BC, 9AM in Alberta) AND for the time zone you’re camping in.
· That you have an account for the reservation system the campground uses, that you know your password, AND that it doesn’t need to be reset. Don’t get stuck resetting a password when those campsites are vanishing!
🌟 2. Have a Backup Plan: Popular sites book FAST. Have 2–3 backup locations, campgrounds, or dates ready in case your top pick gets snagged.
🌟 3. Prioritize Your Must-Haves: Whether it’s a waterfront site, proximity to a comfort station, or hydro available on site (30 Amp? 50 Amp?), know your deal-breakers so you can filter quickly to grab another site if needed.
🌟 4. The Day Before: Set your alarm early: Get up, stretch, and have your coffee ready – booking sites go live at varying times, be aware of what time your site opens. Make sure to log-in a few minutes early, work your way through the site selection process to save valuable time once the bookings go live.
🌟 5. Hover over that “select” button: Be ready to click to grab the site you want the second the reservation system comes online. Sites go fast!
🔥 Pro Tip: Team up with a friend or family member to tackle bookings for multiple sites at once – teamwork makes the dream work!
If you aren’t able to get your dream site on the arrival date you were hoping for, be persistent, keep checking back as cancellations do happen!
Set those reminders, charge your devices, and secure those Canadian campsites for epic outdoor adventures!
